KG Section Celebrates Children’s Day

“Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation
and the citizens of tomorrow.” “Only through right education can a better order of society be built up”- Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

The KG Section (Morning Shift) of The Model School celebrated Children’s Day with great enthusiasm and colours. The objectives of the event were:

  • To pay tribute to the legendary freedom fighter and our first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru popularly known as
    Chachaji.
  • To convey the love and deep affection “The Model School” family has for their children.
  • To make the kids aware that they are ‘special’ to the world.
  • To make them happy and to give them a memorable day by
    celebrating Children’s Day.

“There is no garden as beautiful as Childhood”. Every child is a different kind of flower; together they make this world a beautiful garden. One of the most treasured possessions on earth; children are loved by one and all. Thus, Children’s Day is celebrated to bring awareness about the healthy growth and happiness of children. The Model School always strives to emerge out with something new for its students and Children’s Day being a special day especially for them. As it is generally seen, students perform for teachers on various occasions, but today on 14th November, 2019, at The Model School, Kindergarten teachers performed for the students in order to express their love and care for them. A special assembly was conducted as part of the celebrations.

The teachers took on the stage and conducted the assembly with excitement and vigor. The programme was anchored by Mrs. Priya Ramesh. The day started by seeking the blessings of the Almighty with the Recitation of the Holy Quran by Mrs. Boby Fathima followed by the Prayer by Mrs. Priya Vinod. Our Principal was welcomed by our HoS and to highlight the importance of this day, an informative speech was given by her on the occasion. Our Principal also addressed the staff and students.

KG teachers put up a great show which included a prayer song, holding lamps in their hands and singing “This little guiding light of mine…..” for our lovely children. It was followed by a dance performance for the children. Kindergarten teachers danced to the beats of the song Mambo No 5 energetically while some of the teachers came in wearing masks of cartoon characters.. It was a huge surprise for the children. They cheered their teachers on as they saw them on stage.

In the end, chocolates were distributed to the students who were happy and excited to have the same. Our young kindergarteners also coloured roses and were engaged in various activities.
